I like my voodoo shift ****:

My boot was not long enough to cover the shift **** neck, so I used rubber washers.

You could always cover it if you wanted.

I did that for awhile... I had a glove i put over it, but it looks dumb IMO, why have something that is 100% not functional...

Thanks Kevin, and yes I agree the downside to having a metal shift **** is they sometimes burn or freeze your hand. It was 20 degrees outside today and my shift **** was a wee bit nippy.

I think that's why they started covering them in leather in nicer cars a long time ago. Just the metal insert in my stock one will burn your hand on a hot day....100+ is common around here. Same with the cold. I think driving gloves are for race car drivers and not dorks with sports coupes but on a few cold mornings here lately I've put golf gloves on just because the metal insert on the shift **** is so dang cold for the first 20 minutes of the drive.

I wonder if anyone makes a nice, weighted shift **** that is covered in nice leather?
