Now I know why they wear bras.
Now I know why they wear bras.
I bought my 06 6MT used with 70k miles on it. It had touch up paint all over the front end, particularly the front edge of the hood and along the right front near the headlight. No big deal.
But, for the last two months, and one more to go, I've had an 80 mile round trip commute, mostly interstate. And the front of the car is taking a real beating! Dozens of chips right down to the metal on the front edge of the hood. There are now places where the previous touchup paint is getting knocked off. This is not happening to my G35x that is doing the same commute.
I guess it is because the coupe is so low. I hate the way bras look on sports cars. I hate when I see them flapping in the breeze. I hate the way some of them rub the paint off. But, I'm not sure it would be any worse than the damage I'm getting now. Anyone else see this on their coupes?
What do you do, just keep dabbing on the touch up paint?

Thanks guys. I think the front end has already been painted once. And its got 80k miles on it now with lots of touch up. So I doubt I'll repaint of Clear bra. Agreed about vinyl bras.
Guess I'll just keep touching it up and not worry too much about it. Its my daily driver and from 20 feet it still looks smokin hot.
I might do some research into the Dr. ColorChip stuff they advertise in the car magazines but it looks like it might be a racket.
Its kind of funny. On the right side next to th headlight there must have been a million teeny tiny little chips. Apparently some poor sap, either the dealer or the previous owner, put a tiny dab of touch up on everyone of them. Must have taken all day!
