Yea it could be the way I'm driving it because I've had this car for 2weeks and I'm still learning how to master the shifting process in the G lol and I've been driving m/t for years

If you get that clunk sound when shifting it's your rear diff bushings, not your clutch.
The clunk sound you are talking about dose it almost sound like a CLACK sound?lol that's the best way I can describe it.
I do get that sound mainly in second gear the worsed but I also get it in 3rd.I thought that was the tranny because it only makes that sound just as I put it in 2nd and 3rd.
So it's the diff bushings?

Hey man... you just proved my point. You have some bawls! It would take someone with your level of expertise to attempt what you have described. Well done sir! Thank you for clearing that up!

You've got to understand someone with a very low post count throwing in some rather obscure advice using a non-approved MTF fluid would be met with some suspecion. Just trying to look out for those less informed, and I I don't think the OP is tracking the car.

I'm just a regular owner who's done lots of reading about these cars and have my own experiences.

And from BG's website:
BG Syncro Shift® II is a gear lubricant specially formulated for front wheel drive manual transmissions.

Sorry to take a turn on this thread but since I have your attention here, I'd really like kown why the VQ35DE's can apparently do fine on conventional oil but if you put in synthetic it starts consuming it like crazy? I'm on my 2nd motor because of the issue and will likely need to go for motor #3. Is there something that can be replaced that will fix it? I plan on building the motor somewhat to go FI someday and apparently a new shortblock doesn't do much good.

Sorry OP... don't want to threadjack... just not sure NJ 666's attention in a new thread and he seems like the perfect guy to ask.

Could be, clunk, clack, it just sound transmission related... check the rear rear diff bushing, the one that actually hold the diff to the subframe... there are 2 forward and 1 rear. It's notorious for going bad.. it will look squished and the fluid leaks out. Very common. PITA to change.

But does seem to be more obvious going into 2nd and 3rd.

Even if you're not tracking the car we've had good luck with this fluid as routine service at the dealer.

As far as your oil consumption....did they replace a complete engine or just a shortblock?

Now this is what I've been told by a petroleum engineer is that synthetic oils have a smaller molecular structure there for they tend to get past seals easier. i.e. rings, valve guides, crank seals, cam seals, valve cover gaskets. So it will burn and leak more.

Honestly, I would live with the oil consumption and maybe switch to 10w-30 synthetic.

I'm pretty sure it was a whole new engine back in May 2009. I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic 3 months ago and it has consumed it all! I hear now they are just replacing the shortblock which I think is pretty pointless. Not sure it that's true, but I read it on here recently.
