Buying used? Get Infiniti Service Records

I'm sure this is not news for most folks but for anyone considering a used Infiniti it would be worth it to get service records on the car from an Infiniti dealership.

I bought my high mileage 06 6MT coupe from a dealership. It had had three previous owners. I got curious about its service history so when my wife took the X in for some repairs I had her request service records on the car.

They gave them to me and it was amazing. The previous owners had all the service done at dealerships, which was amazing in itself. And they'd all been very diligent which is great. The other amazing thing is that this car has had virtually every typical Infiniti problem in the book; clicking rear axle, power window problems, clutch replaced, you name it. Thankfully, they checked for OC and that was never an issue.

It also showed a door dent repair and painting that did not show up on CarFax. (Poor paint job BTW).

I do not know if Infiniti dealerships will do this if you're not buying from them but they might and the record shows anything done at any Infiniti dealership in the country. All you need is the VIN.

Anyway, if buying used it would be worth a try to get hold of this.

Good info, I found out a lot of info on my g as well when I was buying. Carfax only shows if they filed a claim, doesn't mean they didn't repair it themselves

I might have to ask for mine next time I'm in there. I'm pretty sure my car was a one-owner lease so hopefully he kept up with the maintenance.

I do know the rear bumper has been resprayed because they did a terrible job. It didn't show up on the Carfax either.

Is there anyone on this board who can pull them for members? I know on the GM site I frequent there are a couple people from dealers that run members VINs and provide them with the records.

All Infiniti dealerships should be able to do it. The first owner of my car was in Massachusetts and now the car is in the Midwest. The dealership I went to here in the Midwest was able to pull the full history from the Massachusetts dealership.

I know the dealers can do it, just would be cool if someone on here could pull the records for future buyers prior to buying and save the rest of us a drive to the dealer (it's about 40 minutes from my place).

Sorry csvencer, I was more replying to the orignal thread. But yeah I agree it would be nice if someone had the capability.

However, I doubt that someone would be able to get into the Infiniti network if they weren't "at the job". And if they were on the job, it could be against the rules because it might be considered "personal use" - as there is no direct business advantage to the actual dealership that person might work for.

My dealer did it for me and I did not pick it up from them. I just asked....The worst that will happen, they will tell you no.
