Met a guy who paid only 3K for his 04 clean title sedan.

Well, I'm bored so I decided to share this story.. About 6 months ago I was parting out my car.. I had tons of aftermarket parts for sale. I had a set of 350z H tech springs for sale on craigslist and this guy pulls up in a silver 04 G sedan.. He buys my springs and of course I always start chit chatting up the car and how they got into it blah blah blah..

Well apparently this guy bought his G from an auction for only $3,200.. It's clean title and it decent condition.. Only problems were with the windows and it had around 110K miles..

It's sad to see how cheap these cars are going for these days.

Unless that dude showed me a carfax, I'd just chalk it up to BS conversation topic.

I have a story too....a buddy of mine sold a 1954 Russian SKS, numbers matching, about six months ago for about $900...the gun was in perfect condition...other guns in perfect condition are going for less than $400....I chalk that up to a fluke, just in the opposite direction...just like him buying his car, if he did in fact buy it for that cheap. Gs are not going for that cheap. I don't think you could even buy a wrecked 04 for that cheap.

Well why would someone lie about that? He had his buddy there too who was also saying he was there and looked at his friend saying "I hate you, damn lucky bastard"

You generally do not get full value from a car at auction, unless you are at a specialty auction that brings collectors. He probably bought it after it was repo'd at an auction where there wasn't much interest.

And of course, none of us has ever backed up a buddy's BS story when he was stringing someone along....

I saw a black 6MT sedan here locally for $4K a few months ago. It had about 160K on it.
