Unhappy *HELP!* Chassis Brace?

I was driving and i was going over this massive railroad tracks (i was going like 1 mph over it) My car got the tracks and literally got stuck on it. I gave it some gas to get out and when i got home and looked under my car I saw that the middle part of it is all bent and messed up.

Would this be the chassis brace? Its in the middle of the car and looks bent to hell. Could i just take it off and leave it off or what? It seems to hit things all the time.

Here is a picture for an idea. Its dark out and i can't jack up the car right now, but these are the best pictures i can right now. Hope this gives you guys an idea. Thanks!

When I installed my GT Spec chassis braces I removed all of those 'stock braces' you have shown in the pictures.. I personally never found a use for them.

You took off the whole middle part Tofu?

KSWAY, so it pretty much HAVE to be there? Wouldn't be smart to completely remove it huh?

Heres a better picture of how messed up it got.

So i tried removing it, since i dont think it really protects the fuel lines, but i cant take it off since the metal bent so much that it blocks one of the bolts from being removed lol.
Only way i can get it off is if i take it to a shop and they cut it off or something. Such a hassle..

goto harbor frieght, buy an electric cut off tool/grinder and some discs and have at it. the tool will cost you less than what youll pay a shop to have them take it off. these are the situations that harbor frieght tools are made for!

Gawd i wish i had tooken it off before it got all bent and crap.

Hmm pretty good idea Erklep, i'm looking at the grinder right now but they all look pretty big for me to be able to use while uder the car. My car is pretty low, so even when jacked up, there isnt much space to get under :/

Could you give me an idea on which you would get? Thanks!

its called a tunnel brace. it helps keep the unibody tight i guess you could say. you prolly wouldnt notice a difference without it. and your only choice is to cut the metal enough to get the bolts out. good luck
