mods that have made people mad
My Stillen exhaust made my wife mad, but she got over it....after a year or two...
When I painted my grille it made my parents mad that I would do something like that to such a nice car but they like it now that it is on the car and they see how much better it looks than the stock chrome that was chipping from bugs. Next it will be the custom grounding kit I just ordered and then the vinyl wrapped roof followed by the rims.
OTOH, debadging my trunk made me hella mad cause it looks terrible cause of the really obvious mark where the letters came off, no amount of adhesive remover/wax/back-to-black can get off
gonna have to repaint in the near future...
When I originally saw this thread I thought it would be a little more informative and useful than ppl describing their debadging experiences 
Not hating on that, but it would be nice to hear about what real mods to stay away from.
Eg. Grounding kits for 6mts, Pulleys, etc.

IMHO debadging is a mod and it made me mad :P lol just sayin
^ Like I said in my original post, I wasnt trying to hate or discredit debadging as a mod or not (which really can be a debate in itself, is ripping plastic chrome off your trunk to be considered a real mod? - that's another subject and can quickly derail the OP's intent for this thread.)
I'm sorry that your mom got upset at you.
My only point was to mention that I hope that others will add real mods that affected performance/major look/safety, which could turn this thread from purely entretaining to actually informative.

i agree its not really a legit performance oriented mod lol (well, except for all that weight saving & aerodynamics you get when you debadge)
anyways, back to the subject...
+1 on the HELLA supertones pissing people off! (only when they deserve it)

I'm sure my neighbors don't like the loud rumble of my car starting up every morning.
And I doubt the people driving behind me like smell of my fumes due to my ART pipes.

Pressing in compression rod bushings vs replacing entire rod in an effort to save money made me mad because it didn't fix my issue. Ended up buying two new rods that are awaiting to install..
On a side note, my car makes my wife mad because she thinks it "breaks" alot but it is the only way to upgrade my stock parts
