If you have a Coupe then the answer is no there are not holes behind the molding. If you have a Sedan then what Steve (naughty240) said is correct.

No holes on the coupe, but who's to say that you car wasn't previously in an accident and the repair shop put the molding on THEN painted the car.

I'm just glad it's on the passenger side so I don't have to look at everytime I get in the car! Gotta save up for some paint now.

No holes on the coupe, and don't take it to a shop to do it. It's really easy. I just took mine off a week ago. I used WD-40 to loosen up the adhesive and it was easy to remove. The hard part is removing the adhesive that's left behind. It's just time consuming. But if you can plug in a heat gun/hair dryer and heat it up before removing, the adhesive will come off easily. I didn't have the option to do that because there aren't any power outlets in my parking garage

But good luck! Be ready to do some polishing afterwards to remove any dirt marks.

Side molding removal, SEARCH "DEBADGING!" Due to the age of your coupe when the molding/glue is removed you will have shadows, to get that removed you'll need someone with a high speed buffer/cleaner. Check out your local car wash that does detail work they can finish the job for ya....
