Well its more of an alarm.
You can set it at whatever RPM you want an alarm to go off at.

Its adjustable down to the single digit. Mine is set at 5500 RPM.

Decided to get one to check it out. I'll give my input once it gets here. Will the double sided tape mess up our dash when we peel it off?

how did you run the cable? did you just tuck it in the seam or did you pull the shroud/panels off?

Not sure about the double sided tape and the residue it might leave. It may leave some.

Also, the MPG calculator requires you to reset the fuel tank level each time you fill up because our car doesn't let the computer know it has been filled.
So you must do this manually, which is actually pretty easy. Just hold the "up" for 3 seconds.
This is why im still on the fence on Velcro vs double sided tape.

The installation was very easy. 5 minutes at the most. I popped the bottom steering wheel covering off and took the two screws holding the ODBII port in. Then plugged in the UG to the OBDII port and tucked the wire behind the OBDII port, you'll see what I mean when you install it. The rest of the cable was ran right next to the AC vent by the radio and vehicle gauge display

well they are sold out now....so you might have to wait a few weeks for the new stock to come in

when I ordered it shows ~250 units in stock. That was about 2 weeks ago, so they are selling pretty well for just word of mouth sales

My G doesnt like my Ultra gauge for some reason. After about 10 minutes of driving the ABS and VDC turn off and wont come back on until I turn the car off, unplug UG and start car again. Maybe its some auto race mode!

It works great in my Camaro and Land Cruiser tho, the MPG is a little optimistic (reads 25 average when I know its more like 23) I think it calculates it by MAF/MAP readings. Also the alarms are slow to react, I wouldnt count on it for a shift light or any other situation where real time is needed. I even set mine low around 5800 and it bounces off the rev limiter 6K before the alarm goes off. And the MPH alarm is set to 80 but I'm going 85 before it beeps, maybe the intense acceleration is too fast for the gauge!

Overall I do think it is a nice piece, I just wish I could use it in my G!!

Same thing happened to my 05 at sedan. I noticed my car shifting hard after installing the ultragauge. Then 10 min later, vdc and slip lights both came in. Then the speedo dropped to 0.

update: i sent a message to the guys over at ultragauge. it seems like you need to "force protocol" to 9141. its under the settings. so far, its been plugged into the G and no problems yet...

After about 7 weeks of use here are my findings.

Great for uses like temperature and other things that are pulled from the ECU

Not so great for speed accuracy or if you need up to use this for up to the millisecond RPM gauge.

Over all I say its a solid piece of equipment.

You must force protocol 9141 or you may have issues as others have pointed out.
