Ultra gauge mini review

I had a scan gauge but it was just ok.

I couldnt really mount it anywhere in the car I liked.

The ultra gauge is $59.99 right now and does more than the scan gauge II can do. The only thing it doesn't do is custom colors.

Ultra gauge gives you 38 selectable gauges to display and will scroll though 18 of them ( 6 per icons per page, 3 pages.
It also does reads OBDII which is the main reason I bought it.

$60 for an OBDII reader like this is a deal in it self!!

When I plugged it in it did a scan and found the 9141 protocol that most imports use.

I havent fully set it up the way I want, but for the 4 days I have had it I have found new ways to display items.

Overall its a great product and a great price for what it does.

Here is the link.

Looks great. What did you use to mount it to the dash? Is it stable?

I used velcro to test fit it.
I'm gonna pick up some 3M double sided tape. The adhesive on the velcro is kinda iffy.

By stable do you mean the mounting?
Yes its sturdy but im afraid the heat will make the glue melt.

Stable product? Yes. Very well built.

The velcro you buy at stores sucks...the one you get at the DMV to stick on a toll tag to your window doesn't melt in the heat. Even when my car was 147 degrees it didn't melt haha. But the one you can get at the store melts in like 110 heat.

^Great idea, Anh. Does the MPG and DTE gauges work for our cars? It's something that I've been wanting.

Checking out the link I noticed all the command buttons are on the back of the unit. If you 3M tape it to the dash how are you going to be able to change any of the settings??

Yep, click on the link in the first post. They have a cool interactive demo that basically lets you scroll through all of the commands/menus to see what's available.

It does have an MPG display.
Our car doesn't have a fuel sending unit so I believe the UG uses a mass air flow calculation along with a few other sensors. I have only had the gauge for a few days so the MPG is still jumping from ~20MPG - ~28 MPG. This morning it was at 25.4 MPG. Which is about right for me. Im 90% highway and little to no traffic. There are two red stops on my way 27 mile trip to work

The DTE is calculated by the MPG, honestly I think the DTE is off. It says I have 500 miles left when I fill up. I have calibrated it to our engine size, fuel tank size, and everything else. If you travel 50 miles from a fill up, it will show 450 miles on the DTE display. Im gonna give it a few more days before I can say for sure if its reading right.

Yes but there is a bit of a delay. Maybe 1-2 seconds on your speed.
The RPM is faster but still has a bit of a delay maybe half a second or so.

I have 18 gauges selected. It scrolls though 3 pages of data.
I currently have it set to go to the next page every 5 seconds.
You can choose a delay up to 250 seconds if you wish.

If I really need to adjust it I can just putt it off the dash

but for the most part I have everything I need diplayed
