MPG question
MPG question
So i've been keeping track of my mpg for the past few months and lately i've been averaging around 15-17 mpg. My driving is pretty much ALL local. Is that reasonable?
What's your driving style like? 15-17 seems pretty accurate for all city driving. I believe 17 mpg is the EPA estimated fuel economy for city. I drive about 50/50 city/highway and average 20mpg.
Yep. 15-17 is average and some guys get a loss less.
Best I've gotten is 19 city and that was short shifting the 5AT below 2000 RPM. I did it for one tank as an experiment. It was pain.
Best highway was 28+. We were running 68 MPH for over 3000 miles = wife was driving the G behind me and I was pulling a big RV so I think she was drafting.. LOL..

Yeah I tried short shifting too haha, but I didn't like it at all.. people get so annoyed and I get annoyed when people try to pass me up when I'm going just a bit slower.
19 mpg city would be nice though

No clue what my highway is or would be because I never spend that much time on the highway. When you draft how close do you want to be behind the other car/truck haha?
I remember someone posting a picture of their front bumper and hood and the horrible road rash that they had and they said that part of the reason why it ended up like that was because they always stayed too close to the car in front of them, but I don't know lol
