Hurricane Irene

SO im rather pissed and just need to vent. On Friday i got my G back from the shop with a new body kit (ings front lip, impul sides, cs rear etc). After dropping so much money on it i was excited again about my whip and then Irene comes and ruins my mojo. The rain was retarded and it felt like i was driving on water i was hydroplaning so much. Anyways coming around a slight corner i hydroplane and the back end of my passenger side sideskirt scrapes the sidewalk and now its ruined. Also it may not have anything to do with what i just wrote but my driver side headlight is out now. How quickyly i can go from excited to bummed out about my car in such a short amount of time

I'm sorry that happened to you, but you were driving on water, and apparently too fast for the weather conditions and your tires. I'm sure you don't feel you were going that fast, but it's a major factor in hydroplaning.

Ummm how about being thankful that you didn't slide across the road, hit an 18 wheeler, and die a fiery death.

As mentioned previously it sounds like you were traveling too fast for the conditions so you really have no one to blame but yourself. A side skirt is a little thing and the headlight either had wires pulled from the force of the impact or the bulb blew. Slow down a little and be more aware of your surroundings and you shouldn't have these issues.

And BTW, congrats on your new set up.

Sure you weren't trying to drift in the rain? Next time slow down. Especially since we run performance tires that wear out pretty damn quick.

I remember seeing a few crash photos and looking at their tires, it's bald as ***....

I feel ya man, it sucks! but it coulda been MUCH worse. heres a pic of my baby after i not only had her paid off, but this was 5 days after i got back from deployment. torrential downpour(i could barely see), wide rear tires(255's) and a light back end... the cops said i stood no chance :/ I hit a puddle while on the slight curve of the onramp to the fwy. instantly had me hydroplaning sideways until this black escalade on the side of the road with his hazards on was oh so kind enough to stop me :| he suffered a damaged rear bumper, I lost my car

So always be thankful, even when it doesnt seem like theres much to be thankful for!
