What Happened To Integrity?
What Happened To Integrity?
So I know Im not the only one who has thought this... In the last 4-6 months, the forum has slowly lost active members or members have switched to a diff car... usually Euro. Well from what Ive been seeing recently, there has been another generation of G drivers.. Being either 2-3-4th owner of a G.. usually over 60k.. like myself. But unlike some others, Ive came into this forum knowing I dont drive a supercar, not a cheap p.o.s., nor an stereotypcial average car. Its an eye catching, sporty, elegant, luxary coupe, and it should bee kept that way for the most part but there are exemptions...
What I guess Im trying to say is.... **** your ebay parts and worrying about saving 20-30 bucks by buying some no name brand siht, keep it legit. Use repitable dealers and manufactors, parts that have proven since day one of being a quality part. As well, have some style... Some people just throw parts at the car with no sense of direction or form.. It looks like crap, you might as well drive a Honda... I understand if you have a budget, I do, trust me, but I will not sacrifice quality and style for a few bucks.
You know who you are, enough has been said. I beleive you should either do it right, or sell your car and find something in a lower class to slaughter....
Let the fighting begin.

Do you really care that much about what other people do to their car? I mean, I understand your point, and agree there are alot of people out there who really fvck up decent cars with tasteless, cheap, and/or pointless mods....but I could care less what someone else does with their car. They're the ones driving it. They're the ones spending their money.

In all seriousness, why should we care? It's not your money that they're wasting. Some people just want to try something new after the G and that's respectable. I know for a fact that i want another one after my G.

Depending on part, some knock-offs are not much different then their name brand counterparts. As for the "sports car" comment, younger owners usually do not know what a true sports car is supposed to feel like so they THINK their g's are fast.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how integrity fits into this.
Integrity as defined is an adherence to moral and ethical principles... it's honesty.
I don't see that a lot of people are being dishonest in the way they choose to modify their cars. If they opt to use a lesser engineered part to save money, even at the expense of performance or aesthetics, then in the end it's their business. The majority, if being dishonest at all, are only lying to themselves.
There are plenty of individuals on this forum who are at the far opposite end of the spectrum than what you are trying to depict this "newer generation" of G35 owners (of which I, too, am a member) as being.
Now, had you ranted about... say... G35Sweetness trying to peddle his "r-art" pipes as trusty and dyno-proven alternatives to Motordyne's ART Pipes, or the even more recent instance in which an individual sold an MREV2 Intake Manifold... except it wasn't a Motordyne unit at all - well I guess I would've agreed a lot more with you.
This community is alive and well, especially in comparison to the Honda and DSM communities of which I was previously a part.

Here is something far more relevant:
I found that "LOST" is on Netflix and I am loving it because now I don't even have to sweat commercial breaks or waiting until next week to find out what's going to happen next episode.

The point of the offtopic replies? People don't care. If the 'cheaper' products works just as good or close to it, let people save money. This isn't exactly the right time in the economy to be spending your D'OH on expensive parts.
Ricey parts on the other hand, like that guy with the eyelids and the GTR badge. Or the other way around. GTR badge with the eyelids. Now that stuff deserves to be lol'd at.
I got knocked up yesterday.....
The movie. Watched it again and it's still a pretty decent movie.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Havok I hear ya, but integrity isn't relevant to your point, just people with bad taste in modding. BUT, as I say a lot, even though I don't necessarily like it, they own the cars and can do whatever they want to them. Just makes those of us who tastefully mod look even better and I'm OK with that.
