How do I clear the strip on the headlights?

here is my question? how do I clear the light strip on our headlights? I restored the headlights on my G35 then restored the lights on another G35 and we both have the same problem, the light strip inside the headlight is kinda yellowish. I'm thinking about opening them up and sanding the strip but I'd like to kow if anyone has fixed this and how it was fixed. if anyone has ever fixed this problem please let me know.

Watch out for cracking the housing that you paint to black it out. Its really delicate. I snapped both of mine at the top -__- lol

Man GL with that. My strips were looking just as bad so I removed the bulbs so they dont enhance the yellowness. lol

My '04s do that as well. Once I get my new aftermarket bumper, I'm going to retrofit the '06-'07 lights that do not utilize the clearance marker light.

why is that? I suppose they were clear when the car was new so I think it should be able to be fixed

Probably because the damage done to the interior clearance strip is due to UV damage from the sun/clearance bulb vs. the sand/debris damage done to the exterior surface over time that can be buffed out.
