Auto-to-manual conversion - can we get this thread right, please?

I have an emerald mist 2003 5AT sedan, and I want to convert it to 6MT. As I'm sure everyone knows, emerald mist is a rare color that was never available on a 6MT, and my educated guess is that the odds of an auto-to-manual conversion being more successful and less expensive than a near-factory-quality repaint are pretty good.

Here's the problem:

I just spent a couple hours reading the miscellaneous threads on such a subject for the last two years, and I'm just as uninformed as when I started. Every thread is filled with people who haven't done it and haven't priced it saying "just buy a manual." Manual sedans are almost impossible to find locally, and they were never made in this color anyways.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Advice and knowledge from people who have actually done the conversion.
A complete and decisive list of parts I'll need.
A referral to a shop that has performed such a swap.

Here's what I'm not looking for:
"D00d, just go buy a manual LOL"
"I've never done it, but it doesn't look any harder than a 240SX"
"I've done it" (followed by a lack of any specific info).
"Uhh, it's gonna cost like (insert random dollar amount here)" (without any explanation, justification, or itemization).

Forums for much more complex cars have much better threads about the exact same subject. C'mon, G35Driver. We can do better than we have.

best bet would be to hang around an infiniti/nissan dealership about the time the mechanics get off of work.

someone is doing it on another forum I am on. it seems like unless your car has very little miles like his does, it wouldn't be worth it... or if you're doing it 100% yourself, buy a wrecked 6MT (same year and body) and part out what you don't need after you finish the job just in case you need some random parts that are going to be hard to find. that's just my opinion.
