How Often do you.....
I hope most people know this already but it depends on ur driving too. A lot of city = more oil changes. Mostly freeway (like me) = less oil changes. But its always important to check the color and smell of the oil to determine the status of the oil.
Colour and smell are not great indicators (unless something's really horribly wrong), only a used oil analysis will tell you for sure. I run mine 10,000 km (about 6200 miles) between drain and fills, with a filter change halfway. I have not done any UOA, but I suspect it's good to go for longer than that. Coming up on a change tomorrow, in fact.
EDIT: BTW, just judging by the title, when I clicked I was sure this was going to be a thread about fapping...

Yes. Keep in mind that oil still needs to be broken in. Changing synthetic at 3k miles is changing it out just as it's being worn in and becoming effective and can actually be more damaging to your motor. I would ideally change synthetic every 5k, but be careful about your oil filter selection as some of them aren't guaranteed to make it past 4k.

and Bingo! Oil is designed to suspend dirt and metal particles so who cares if it turns dark, also if you do short trips and do not let your engine warm up to proper temp that might get fuel in your oil, if you let your engine get to operating temp you should not have any issues with fuel in your oil. Unless something is wrong of course
I go 5k on Castrol Syntec, which I have tested to run, I could go for longer.

This might be true, but keep in mind that most synthetic oils are rated at 7500 miles tops, anything over, and you can't be sure your motor is still well lubricated and protected. Beyond this, oil filters rarely work that well for that many miles. Even if it does hold together well enough for that many miles, it probably stopped working effectively a long time ago.

Any oil that is rated for miles is hogwash...Also as its proven time and time again just because an oil says you can go 15k or "x" miles has no bearing if you can actually do it. Its all just BS marketing.
Oil filters rarely work beyond 7500 miles? Where did you get that information? Virtually any decent filter, Purolator, Wix, Bosch, K&N, M1 can go 10k miles.
Some aren't guaranteed to make it past 4k? which ones dont?
Also there is no such thing as "Oil being worn in" this is the funniest line in your post
I actually did not change halfway this time, using a Wix 51356 (Maxima-size) filter so am probably okay. SS - have you ever done a UOA after running 10K miles and on the same filter? Not saying you shouldn't, just wondering what the results were.
For a 6k OCI changing filters half way is way overkill imo. Even with the normal VQ sized filter. You are more than OK with your Currently installed Wix
