Hey guys n girls I need help on swapping my differential. I have an 06 automatic... 3.3 I assume. I found a 04 manual R230 differential... 3.5 I assume? Can I swap for more bottom end out the hole???? Going FI soon so I don't wanna go more than 3.5... Just wondering if it will bolt right up n run right (but quicker) with my AT??? Doing Transgo vb upgrade this weekend n ordering that differential tomorrow if it's a gud move?
Thanks!
I need faster bottom end

Does your car have the sports package? If so then you already have a 3.5.
If the differential you find is off a manual, then it will bolt right on, if its from an auto then would have to do some modification. You want the diff with a 4-bolt flange on the front. And yes the Transgo VB is something you want to get.

Ahhemmmmm.....
You know, I have always wanted a taller 6th gear. I wish I could just change that alone. When I'm playing in the twisties, I rarely get out of 3rd and 4th anyway. And the car will damn near run the same top speed in 5th and 6th anyway.

You seem to have failed to listen to the advice given in this and your other thread. If you are planning to go FI you want to stick with the 3.3 so you don't get out of boost too fast. I understand wanting to get a faster start, but if the 3.3/FI combo will net you a faster 1/4 mile time than a 3.5 why in the world would you want the 3.5?
I dunno.. Gues I just want a fast NA car for now cause its gonna be a few months before I pull the trigger on the turbo kit.. I was gonna switch to 3.7 for now then when I go forced induction switch back to 3.3. and sell the 3.7... Another reason is cause there this lil dude in a rsx type r that I want to beat NA.

No it's not stupid, I hear ya. However, if you went with the 3.5 NA you would still have a slower 1/4 mile time even though you'd be a touch quicker out of the gate. With the 3.3 you'd hit the quarter at the top end of 3rd gear and with the 3.5 it would shift into 4th before that losing a little bit of time.
The 3.5's more fun to drive around town though, that's one of the mods I've done.
