Rotate your MAF adapter so that your MAF sensor plugs into the underside of the adapter and won't be visible, will look at a lot better and won't cost you a dime to do.

I would just remove the OEM snorkel, you don't need it you are running a CAI.

as for the caps, yes you can get nicer ones and if you wanna be budget minded just get a 350z style 1/2 engine cover to cover up the rest of the mess in there
Thank you...last time I took the "snorkel" off (once I had installed the CAI), the "core support" looked even uglier, so I decided to put it back on...but I suppose I could just paint the whole core support and it wouldn't look that bad.

What about the green circled area? Is that all one kit like in the first pic in my thread?

And I finally figured out what I'm thinking of for the air diverter thing...it's the air diversion panel. I'm not quite sure where it goes, though...could you help me out with where I would install that? Just for clarification, here's the diversion panel I'm referring to.

And I figured out where the panel goes...hmmm, just another thing to spend money on; it's not even one of the parts I circled in the photo.

And I think I also figured out that the green circled area can be "enhanced" with a polished timing cover...not sure how much those run though lol

Yellow thing - Core support, you can get it painted but you need more money. It is hard to paint that part cause paint will not easily stick. Just ask the people who have done it.

Red - buy a nismo radiator cap a lot of them ( fake and original ) in ebay or amazon. Also here in the market place and 350Z forum market place

Blue - snorkel, just remove it you already have a CAI. Yes, you are right it will look ugly then buy an oil catch can, square one and I am too lazy to point what brand and where in the interweb to find it... place it there.

Green thing - buy a rare JDM cover for it... if not then you can do it yourself as a DIY. just get a picture of the cover, measure the dimensions and cut and fold away...

there is no other way to hide those wires unless you do a full tuck... reserach wiretuck here and youll find out what I mean

Purple - buy a nismo oil cap... a ton in ebay or amazon... fake or real... or other designs that you want.

Plenum - buy a 350Z cover, cut it out and paint it yourself. almost 1/2 of the plenum will be covered by it. What about the other half ?? I say paint it black... use high temp paint

MAF sensor - as what markus said rotate it and it will be cleaner.

Coolant reservoir - paint it black

you said paint your hoses ??? ok try it and let us know what happens....

The air diversion panel that is in your link will only cover the hole in between the front bumper and core support. It goes in front of the yellow circle you made...

You dont have to spend money to get our engine bay cleaner and nicer than stock... but there is a limit on the things that you can only do if you have a budget....

Clean all the grime and dirt in there and with just those your engine bay will look nicer...

goodluck and look at these links so you will have an idea on other things to do...

DIY dress up bolts

engine bay pics

have fun and show pics

A good place to begin is cleaning your engine, no water just rags and cleaner. Remove all your under hood stickers, you don't need em. You posted you had a Kinetix plenum, if those are pic of your engine it's missing. You can get your oil/radiator cap on line, Nismo's cool. If you want to go carbonfiber just order a 350Z engine cover and don't paint it. PM my bud Sean (SXEXCX) on our MARKETPLACE under vendor Accessories for anything polished you want, he does it all. Buy Mothers metal polish and polish all your air conditioning lines and hose ends. Paint the handle on your dipstick body color, yellow's fugly. You can also remove the stickers on the underside of your hood, carb cleaner will get rid of the plastic covers. Now you can clean and polish the underside of you hood too. You mentioned painting your hoses, bad idea! Want colored hoses, order the kit from our MARKETPLACE. (black looks best)

Thanks guys. Yes, I have a Kinetix V+, but I'm waiting to get the MREV to put them on together. And yeah I'll stick with my stock hoses and just clean them like multiple have suggested.

I appreciate the helpful replies (although I know it required restraint, because of the more-novice question asked)...it just took a whole page of the thread to get past the non-helpful ones. Thanks again.

Just work on one thing at a time. No rush. You will get to that point soon enough. I am still working on mine and i am planning on another job on the engine bay soon. I just do one thing at a time and now the engine bay is looking awesome.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Nissan specify that installing the MAF upside down is bad for it...?

OP, I'd start with a good pressure wash to get all the dirt and grime off of the engine bay. Once you do that, some good old elbow grease. Once you've got that done, then I'd go after some bling.

I've never been one to really make my engine bay pop. The most I've done is clean up and repaint the engine cover, install a strut brace, and remove the sound deadening on the underside of the hood, and cover that area with stickers.
