Farewell

I haven't been around the boards much recently, some of you may know me..some of you may not as I'm sure there's a lot of new people here since I stopped posting much.

Anyway, about a month ago I called it quits with my G as I was sick of it spending more time in the shop than on the road. It had some gremlins I never could find, and I was done spending more money on it just to hopefully get it fixed. Unfortunately I never really did get it to the point where I was completely happy with it, and I probably could have with another 10 grand and 6 months of down time.

I sold my G to a coworker, who I know will take care of it as long as he owns it. Though he plans to sell it in a month or so, he just wanted it for a bit.

Last week I placed an order for a Space Gray Metallic 6MT 2013 BMW M3 Coupe, no more of this auto to manual nonsense .

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here, and to all the people I've met over the last 6-7 years. I had no idea I would go this far with my car, and it was fun owning a 470whp 570wtq monster. The M doesn't come anywhere near that, but it makes up for it in a lot of other areas, one of them being peace of mind. If it wasn't for this forum my life would be very different, for one I would still have a stock G35 and wouldn't have met some lifelong friends.

Here's some of the last pics I've taken a few months ago with a friend of mine.

I'll still hang around lurking and posting once in a while, and more importantly selling some crap I have in my garage. I have a NISMO bumper, stock bumper, cats, and more I'll be posting for sale soon.

Now the waiting game begins for my M...

Sad to see you go, but I am making the exact same decision as you to part from my g so I definitely understand your reasoning. I'm sure the M will treat you very well, best of luck.

Yeah man you were a true help to me in my own efforts in my struggle for a high power AT. I totally understand what you're walking away from- the car as I know it now is barely fun to drive- with every little blip and hiccup causing stress or more investment on a daily basis. Just found out about more substantial faults- sure, only 4-5 hours labour alone but... Now it's the rad, and some weeping... More fluids... Worry about the AT... What's that noise? Where's that whistle coming from?

1000. 2000. And and and.

Good luck with your new ride. I totally respect the decision and firmly believe you have earned some piece of mind!!!!
