G35 Glass Headlight ?
I know there are like...45908345 different write-ups. What I used has a UV protectant in it, though. You'd be surprised how well it works.
My headlights used to fog up within a month to a month and a half of me cleaning them. I haven't had any issues since I cleaned them this time around, though.
So why don't we have plastic windshields? All your arguments - safer, don't distort light, cheaper to fix, just as strong - show that we should all have plastic windshields, too. Making a fancy curved piece of glass is not cost effective when you can make it out of plastic for a fraction of the cost.
Hahaha.. windshields have a plastic layer in the middle. For all of the same reasons that headlights are made of plastic. And windshields DO distort light, thats why if you're in a car with a large curve in the windshield and you look at it from a distance you can see the wobbles/distortions. Not to mention they pit, so whether its plastic or glass it needs to be fixed/replaced eventually.
.. both materials have their pros & cons.
He's probably talking about UV Sealer-Helmsman Spar Urethane(Indoor/Outdoor)Clear Gloss mixed with Mineral Spirits described in here.

Works wonders.

My headlights looked absolutely like new after I did it. Still do. I couldn't find the link to the writeup on my350, so that's why I was just going to do another one...
The ONLY flaw I've found with this is that the Helmsman urethane is NOT completely bug gut resistant. If you hit a lot of bugs, make sure you wipe the guts off, or they'll eat through the urethane and leave nice little marks.
Gary: I can promise that this restoration process works. I was kind of jaded at first, but I gave it a shot anyway. Needless to say, the end result really did speak for itself.

The G and Z are pretty bad about their windshields being easy to damage.
I don't know if it's because Nissan used cheap glass, the cars are low to the ground, or a combination of both. I have a chip and a small star in mine from trucks on the highway, as well as little speckles of damage that you can't see unless the sun hits just right.
