Front Lip

Well last week I got a nice warm welcome back to the forum after my absence for about 2 years after I sold my last G Coupe, this friday, I got my Type G Lip installed and just wanted to share a pic of it to my fellow brothers here.

Is that the Gialla replica?

It's a good-looking lip...same one I have on my car.

Definitely needs a set of side skirts to go with it, though.

Nice looking lip, fits good! How do you guys install something without painting it first? I see a few "Throwaway" Hondas/Toyotas where they do the same thing, door/fenders or hoods unpainted....

Pretty much half the Honda's in my city are rolling around with unpainted kits on their cars, some of which have been like that for years. At one point, I thought primered fibre glass was a new trend or something.

Could very well be installed for a test fit just to make sure you aren't painting something that doesn't fit. I always install my parts before deciding to take them in to get painted, I don't want to pay so much extra for an install that I can do easily, and I definitely don't want to paint something that doesn't fit.

Also just to see if you indeed like how the part flows on your car.

While I don't agree with people running unpainted parts, I can totally understand why they do it. Excitement to run new parts, putting money into the paint, finding the time to get a good shop, etc.

Now that I'm older though, it makes more sense to just do it right the first time and get it painted before installation.

Its a replica lip, the fitment is a 9/10, i figured I get it on there and line up the holes and then see how it is going up my driveway, wifey says i got about an 1-1.5 inches to spare. Ordering the paint for it tonight to get it painted, but yea, its black so can't really tell a difference if it was painted or not since the car is black. And trust me our cars aren't those throw-away hondas with the unpainted stuff, we're classy enough to even make their ghetto stuff nice.

Yea we had another g coupe that we traded in for a new armada cause the kids were getting big, but now we got our vehicles, I was looking for a six speed and finally one.

Definitely not in my case! I usually do test fitment first, unpainted, then take it off immediately. My car wouldn't get out of the driveway with unpainted parts and panels, unless of course it's on its way to the paint shop for a respray.

its always worth it to get the fitment perfect first by sanding and what not then take it back off and paint it after it fits perfect
