Exclamation Passenger side mirror wont move left to right.

Passenger side mirror wont move left to right, only up and down but drivers side will adjust just fine. I Also cant push the mirror left to right by hand.
Does anyone have any tips or idea why it wont move or what i can do to adjust it manually?

Thanks in advance

Can you hear the motor working when you try to adjust the mirror?

If you can hear the motor working then the mounting clips are most likely broken. I forget which style the mount is but it is either a circle that snaps into the mechanism that adjusts the mirror, the clips usually break and thus no adjusting.

The other setup is 2 white plastic screw type pins with ball clips at the mirror end, the ball end usually breaks off and thus no adjustment.

Just be careful when you pull on the mirror to look at it they will break very easily.

Sorry should have included that in my explanation, I can hear the motor when it moved up and down but when i go to move it left and right it sounds like it wants to move for a second but nothing happens, no clicking, no grinding, no gears turning ... it is as if something is holding the gears in place.

The clips all look in place but i have had my car for only 3 days and don't know much about it.

I think i need to buy a new motor for it. If i do need to buy a new motor do i have to buy a whole new passenger side mirror or can i get a new motor alone.

Don't be afraid to take it apart and trouble shoot, the good side is you fix your problem and the bad side is you have to buy a whole new mirror assembly. But to answer your question, Yes you would have to buy a whole new mirror assembly if you didn't wanna work on it.

Check the classifieds here or ebay and your local CL or junkyards.
