I don't know if this spacer that I see is standard on these cars, or if this thing is a plenum spacer.

[You can see the 'spacer' or whatever it is in that picture, taken from the drivers side with the intake tube in the way]
I've searched and searched to get an idea of what should be there in stock form, and I'm just not sure.

Hm.... I wonder what else has been done to this car

I mean the intake is stock.... or has been returned to stock prior to sale.

Guess I need to search for what else has been modified.

Wonder why he didn't take it out hmm. It's a nice simple mod to have though!

Most definitely! I'm just worried this car may have been abused or driven hard on a regular basis. Though I wanted to install a spacer anyway :P

The plenum spacer is an upgrade to correct a Nissan design error! Just because we make modifications to our cars doesn't mean were out there beatin the **** out of em. Speaking for myself SLICK has only seen red line when getting a tune and gets Amsoil synthetic oil/filter 3 times a year. Not bad since I only put 5K miles a year on her clock....abused, yea right!

Ok fair enough . I only said that because I know how 'some' modders can be. I mean lets be honest, we all know "that guy" . So far though this car seems to be in tip top shape, no signs of abuse. Has a little bit of the oil consumption issue, but that's common anyway.

A "mod" as small as the Nismo clear signals would be a total turn off.

Congrats. Although, now you don't get the joy of installing it and hearing the purr for the first time.

Sorry deadeyes, the OC issue is only somewhat common amoung '05+ 6MT G35s with REVUP motors caused by Nissan using poor quality Chinese piston rings. LOL not sure the Chinese part is true but sounds good....

That doesn't look like the stock Infiniti intake either. Looks like you have what is known as the Z-tube (OEM intake off a 350Z). The spacer and z-tube are typically the first mods done to a G. Wouldn't consider those parts bad things either.

Edit: If you have an 05 6MT, then you have the REVUP engine, the spacer requires another product from Motordyne called the MREV2, let's hope the previous owner did his homework and hooked you up!
