Shifter issues

Having issues with shifting out of Park. The shift button will pop in and out when i am in R-N-D-DS-M, but when it is in Park it will get stuck. When the car is off the Shift into Park light and notification will go off. Here is a video.

There's a safety switch between the brake pedal and the shifter. Not sure how its wired up but you should check it out.

I had same issue 8 years ago with my Grand Prix. I had to manually push the shift release button everytime to shift.

some thing happened to me in my 04 g35x, i had popped the fuse while wiring the brake light on a new spoiler. the fuse was in the driver side kick panel. if that fuse is gone when to apply the brakes your rear brake light should not illuminate also you would not hear the 'click' from the shift lock disengaging

Thanks guy, i will check your suggestions. My friend told me it was the entire shifting assembly, so more than likely i'll have to get that replaced/
