These cars can be found in the the $10K range so like I said before, purchasing outright isn't saying much. ESPECIALLY for those who don't pay bills and collect from their parents. I thought I covered this already in my first post

Here's me playing the grown up card: Most teens are fawking stupid when it comes to logic and finances. If my original post didn't apply to you, then why get butthurt over it? If the shoe fits however, then wear it. For how offended your sounding has me questioning the validity of your claims.

Jobs are hard to get for high school/college students so $10k (which will get you an '03 sedan with 300,000 miles and a salvaged title in my area) is a lot in my book. Don't get me wrong, i agree that most kids with nice cars tend to be douchey drivers, and their parents pay for everything. It just irritates me when people jump to conclusions about a G35 driver who did something stupid, and then young G35 owners automatically get blamed. As for teens being stupid when it comes to logic and finances, well i'm 19, a junior in college obtaining an engineering degree. I work part time in a shitty job to put myself through college, room, tuition, insurance, everything. I understand that this is not the case for everyone, but i hope you realize how making these generalizations can irritate me. As far as your "grown up card", saying that i play with turds because i am a custodian doesn't seem very grown up or mature to me. But hey, at the end of the day we all got nice cars, and i'll bet we enjoy them just as much. If you've got something against young drivers i can see where your coming from but there are two sides to this story. It seems like everyone on this forum has beef with each other, yeah i'm a newbie , i'm young, but honestly why should it make a difference. That's all i got, take it or leave it.

Ogee, I see both sides of this.

At 18/19 I was a total shitbag driver. I think they named a wing of the Fullerton North Court after me for all the fines I paid there.

My son, who is now 22 drives like somebodies grandmother. I have never seen a boy his age drive so freaking slow and careful. On the other hand, he will likely live with us until he is 40 at the rate he is saving money.

So yes, generalizations are bad, but statistics are hard to argue and young, inexperienced drivers cause the majority of accidents. That you happen to fall into the bucket of young stupid kids is not your fault and I applaud you for being an exception to the rule.

Thank you i appreciate it. In all honesty i see more 50 year old males still trying to impress girls at the college i attend some by revving unnecessarily others by burning out at the main intersection than i do young folk (generalization, yes i know), but statitstically, you guys are correct. There are always outliers, i guess i am one of them, and i couldn't let that go unheard i guess. It is not a big deal but i just wanted to voice my opinion like everyone else. Thanks.

Me and my neighbor are both close to 50. He drives a 2009 Mustang with an illegal exhaust, revs it constantly, "warms it up" for 15 minutes while its rattling my windows, peels out of here like a total douchebag and thinks it makes him cool. The 20 year old ricers down the street don't make a sound when driving through our street. And my G is a little louder than stock if I romp on it so I try to be cool and not **** off the neighborhood. Maturity is not based on age.

Haha i couldn't agree more. I have fun with my car for sure but i don't feel the need to race everyone that has a cool car or rev to get some college a***. Everyone has their thing and if your neighbor gets a hard on over his exhaust that's cool with me. I'm sure if i started posting that all car owners with loud exhaust are bad drivers and can't think logically or manage their money, he might get a little PO'ed though. I see that you understand what i'm on about so i'll give it a rest... (for now.. haha jk)

Haha yeah that means your car has a V12. If you know anything about college girls they like middle age men with loud cars, don't you see them all the time together? Actually Hugh Hefner could make a fool of me, but i'll allow him to be that outlier.

If i get one it's b/c my wife wants it on the car. About 30% of the time i do have a baby on board. Last semester it was 80% of the time. I use her for carpool in the mornings to get to school.

Sounds like the only thing you have in common with the guy I commented to is that you're young. When some kid comes on here and says "I paid for it with my money" and doesn't acknowledge his parents help with all the rest of his expenses it kinda pisses people off. Wait till he's gotta buy clothes, pay the rent, electric, gas, cable, you know the drill, he'll learn it. Props to you for doing what it takes to get what you want, that's a lesson a lot of teens these days learn to late and it's our fault as parents. And yes you pay way more for insurance than I do.
Wait till your 50 to judge us old guys.

What kind of parents did you have that would be giving you money to total anywhere near $10k??

$10k was an almost unfathomable amount of money to have ready to spend on something non-life/education essential until I joined the big kid's job world.
