06 5AT Shift Boot ring-Need Help

Hello guys, I am having trouble removing the silver square ring that is on my OEM shift boot. Props to Hakaveli for his help on my project so far. Thanks for looking!

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

It just pulls out of the shift boot. IIRC it's got 3 "tabs" that are pinched into the leather so just grab and twist until you loosen it. I broke mine when I took it out because I didn't know what I was doing.

If this is for a coupe...I ended up having to flip the shift boot inside out and there was a plastic clip that holds the shift boot to that little silver plastic piece. I tried just pulling it off like Blue Dream had mentioned but it did not want to come off. Hope that helps.
