Extended Warranty Issues
Wasn't really sure where to post this so feel free to move this if it's in the wrong section.
Purchased my 05 Infiniti G35 last July. The previous owner had purchased the Elite coverage warranty from NASC. This is a $1600 warranty that covers a majority of the car, up until about 151,000 miles. It was transferred to me when I purchased the vehicle as a one-time transfer (had to pay $100 or something). Didn't drive the car all winter of course due to the shitty weather and on the roads.
This spring I've been driving her around on the nicer days, but noticed it was hard to shift into second when it was cold. Once it warmed up it seemed to go away for the most part. Not a huge issue, but I've had some personal issues to take care of and I don't believe I can continue to keep the car. Since the warranty is a one-time transfer, I figured I would bring it in to have it looked at. Called the warranty company and they referred me to a transmission place which they approved me to go to. Two weeks ago. It's still there and hasn't had ANYTHING done to it yet (and probably wont).
TWO Fridays ago (4/19), the morning I brought it in, the shop said they didn't really find a whole lot, but was going to replace a few seals as they looked to be wearing. Before they did anything though, they would have to contact the warranty company to make sure that everything was covered, but he said that there should be no problems getting anything replaced.
Skip forward to Wednesday (4/24), the warranty guy finally comes in, does his thing, and sends the report to the adjuster. All the shop needed was the go-ahead from the adjuster to make the small repairs. They waited, and heard nothing back. They've tried calling the adjuster, but he had failed to return any phone calls or even pick up, despite numerous attempts. I call the shop, and they inform me that they're still waiting on the adjust to call them back (this is Thursday, 4/25 now). They give me the adjusters phone number and extension to try and reach him myself. I tried calling all day Friday (4/26) starting around noon, and left him a voicemail. Nothing. Called towards the end of the day and got his voicemail again. Tried calling instantly after that, and his phone was suddenly on DnD. Whatever. I'll call Monday.
So Monday (today) rolls around. I call the shop to verify that the adjuster hasn't called them, which of course they haven't heard a thing from him. So I call the adjuster again, and leave another voice message. Day goes by, and nothing. So I call when I get out of work today (just passed 5pm), and it goes to his voicemail again. I call the operator to get ahold of him. I wait on hold for 10 minutes or so, because the operator needed to "check" to see if the adjuster was available. The operator comes back and informs me that the adjuster leaves at 5:15pm. Of course, I just barely miss him because I'm waiting on hold for so long. So I ask to speak to another adjuster.
I get connected the new adjuster (he picked up the first RING, never mind the first time), and looked into it. He comes back and tells me that the previous adjuster denied my claim. According to him, the throughout bearing "put a hole" in the casing of the transmission, as well as some other crap. He also tells me that it was denied due to "negligence", as there are signs of wheel spin and slipping tires, as well as "aftermarket internal parts". Since I purchased the car last year, I've taken GREAT care of her. Since I've had her she's only been though two oil changes @ ~3000 miles. The clutch is less than two years old, and was done by a shop Infiniti of Syracuse. Well... nice of him to report this to the shop last Friday.
Has anyone else have experience dealing with warranty companies and their bullshit like this? Anything I can do? Currently she's still sitting in the shop with no transmission .

What a hassle! Hope you get everything worked out. I never had to go throgh that. When ever i have a problem under extended warranty they just look to see the problem and fix it.
Update: The shop says there is no way the throughout bearing would cause a hole in the tranny, it would shatter first. This makes sense, since my buddies T-O bearing went and just went to pieces. They also told the warranty guy they did not see any signs of abuse or neglect on the car, but he had still reported it as so.
Spoke with another guy from the warranty place (figures, the original guy still won't pick up), who said he will be calling the shop to sort things out. Will update again when I find out from them...

Update: The warranty guy was very rude with me over the phone (I grilled him with questions, though I was polite), and told me that there was clear evidence that the tires was scoring on them due to wheel spin and neglect. I asked for him to send me photos and he would not. Asked him to send me the report and he will not.
Now the transmission is in pieces to be rebuilt, and if they don't cover it then it's all on me... not sure what to do next.
EDIT: Just filed a complaint with the BBB.

++++++++1 why didn't you, unless it's really far away, because Infiniti can tell them this is what's wrong and what happened and hash it out with the warranty company, i think the big mistake was not taking it to Infiniti for warranty in the first place, if it was out of pocket I could understand, but you've probably no recourse now, but to fix it and know next time....

I just bought my 03 G from an Audi dealership and purchased an extended warranty. Audi and Infinity said they would both accept this warranty to do any work. I personally would take my car there before Joe Blows transmission shop because I feel they would fight for any repair just due to future business when the warranty runs out. If you might have to pay for it, take it to whom you think might fight for you the best.
You asked, I gave. Good luck

This thread is a perfect example of why you should never buy any extended warranty other than Nissan or your Dealership.... Ford or GM etc. The company's are in the business of taking your $$ and finding any way possible to deny your repairs. I had a friend with a Ford 4X4 and a blown engine, aftermarket warranty company denied him because his tires were one size larger than what came from the factory!

Side note, found a driveshaft from another member on here, and it's been shipped today.
My warranty is through Fidelity. I don't know if they are good or bad, but I made sure both the Audi dealer I bought the car from and my local Infinity dealer would honor this warranty prior to spending the money for it. Infinity said they deal with them all the time and is a pretty common policy (bumper to bumper). Time will tell....
I thought you said your throughout bearing and trans case were the problem, drive shaft too? Sounds like you got the shaft...
Never take your car where the company that's paying for it recommends, find your own independent place that may not be influenced..
It's like divorce, you don't use your wife's attorney.
