Not bored of the car. We are just more aware of what we have, what we are capable of and what's fast nowadays.
He's right for the 03-04's.

Also why do I get the feeling some of you long time G owners have gotten bored of your cars lol....
If you're going to prove a point, please have your facts straight. From the factory ratings 03-04 sedans were rated at 260HP, coupes at 280. 05-06 5AT sedans/coupes were rated at 280 and the 6MT versions at 298HP but with lower torque numbers. Since you drive an 04 sedan you fall into the 260 #. Being cocky is totally under your control, it's not hard unless you make it so. That being said your attitude has you walking a fine line on here so be careful unless you want a permanent vacation from Driver. A little humility never hurt anyone.

And I can say after owning my car for 4 years I am anything from bored with it, just mature enough to know what it is and what it isn't. If you read one of my posts from another thread, I still walk away from it and turn back to see how sexy she is. I'm at 114K and I intend to daily drive her to 200K plus if she'll let me.

Yes 260HP for 03-04 and was changed to 280HP for 05-06 ON PAPER. Meaning they used a different more updated method of calculating HP but nothing was changed to the engine itself therefore it had the exact same power. Like I said I already cleared this up with another very well informed G35 member. (I can get you his account name if you'd like).

Anyway from what I'm reading you seem a little heated so let's clear this up I didn't mean to offend anyone or be "cocky" on here. It's only when I'm behind the wheel and towards NON-G35 drivers.

Also on another thread called "I think I have a problem" I noticed a lot of long time members aren't very enthusiastic about their G, maybe you're still in love with it and I never said you specifically were bored of your car. But there are definitely some members on here that are. And if not bored then a different word would be less amused or less entertained by their car even by a little.

Heated? Not a chance, just amused at this point and disappointed our forum is heading in the direction it is. This used to be a great place for intelligent back and forth among the members and a great resource with people very knowledgeable about the G sharing their wisdom. It's not that anymore and that's sad but to be expected as prices of the G have fallen dramatically and any tool can pick one up on the cheap.

And it still is, I know so much more about the G because of this forum. This forum was the reason I bought my G. I feel at home when I'm browsing through this forum. I learned that my car doesn't have 260HP and actually has 280HP because of this forum. It's sad you seem to have gotten a bad impression of me and I apologize. Maybe one day we will be on better terms.....

Agree 100%

It's kinda sad that I can ask technical questions about 2010+ G37 sedans that i want to purchase and have them go unanswered for weeks, but find 6 threads a day on cheap Ebay crap for 10 year old models. I've been on this board since 2005 when i almost bought a 6MT coupe brand new. I've seen a dramatic transformation of the board from exactly what you've mentioned. It used to be well-thought out technical discussion but as prices have dropped it seems like it really is the next Honda Civic with most threads centered about rims, lowering, exhaust and paint.

I still love my G35x, although these days it looks like a well-worn daily beater...and that's what it is to me now. Maybe I don't wash it as much as i used to these days. Maybe the trunk still smells like spilled oil, the interior carpet looks a little dirty and the new car smell is long gone. Yes, maybe the coolness factor has long worn off and it feels like an average grocery getter to me these days. But I still love driving the car and it's been one of the best car's i've ever owned

ooohhhh **** just got real..

But I suppose back to the original content of the thread... My G has definitely changed me. Im a much more cautious and patient driver. I almost ALWAYS give the right away. Probably not so much because the car actually made me a better person, but because the bitter loss of my last car from an accident (not my fault) makes me not want to have to go through losing a car I enjoy so much and seeing it get hauled off to a wrecking yard...I go to great lengths to avoid the average tard on the road.

I bought it new for 40k. I own my ****. You're just borrowing someone else's sloppy seconds.
Actually the previous owner of my car had a similar thing, owned the car for about 9 years and drove it here and there. The only difference is he told me he lost that "feeling" when he drove the car and wanted to sell it to someone who would have that same "feeling" he got when he first bought it.

He now drives a G37 and has that "feeling" again and so do I, so I guess it was a win-win for him.
