True, that may be a weird phenomenon, but it has nothing to do with the OP's question, or that dumb comment on if the driveshaft is still spinning while stopped that started all of this. My guess is the person who said that was sitting at a stoplight one day and noticed the prop shaft of a random delivery truck spinning away and thought "my car must work the same way." It doesn't.
