Corrosion under hood

Corrosion under hood
So I bought my G35 preowned with about 99k miles on it. The previous owner took great care of the car. The underside is in great shape and when I had the wheels off, the suspension parts all looked great as well. However, underneath the hood, there is like white corrosion on the block, heads, the bolts around the engine bay are rusted, and even the intake plenum shows this white corrosion... I don't personally know if the owner drove through winters before but I also own a lexus is300 that has been through every winter and it doesn't even look close to the g35 and it's 3 years older
I'll post a picture in a few minutes here but just wanted to get some feedback and see if this was something experienced by other users

That's typical oxidation. It's basically rust on aluminum parts.
For a norther car with 100K miles driven in the winter, i'd say that's typical and nothing to really get worried about. I have the same oxidation under my hood on the metal parts. Unless you keep the car spotless, and in a climate controlled area, it's tough to avoid.

That's whatbi figured, thanks for the response man, yea I'm gonna try to keep it a little more clean so that it doesn't continue to get worse. I live in MI so we get snow and salt that's for sure. And LOVE driving both my RWD cars in the winter so I'm not going to store it anytime soon. I'll drive the g through anything until it dies. Then I'll rebuild and make faster lol

If the aluminum oxidation bugs you, grab some simple green and a stuff nylon brush and scrub it. You'll be able to remove a lot of it, but it will take some elbow grease.
The rust on the strut towers would really need some sanding down to base metal, primer and reprint to properly repair. It's really mostly surface rust and cosmetic really. If you plan to keep the car 5+ years or so, I'd monitor it a bit! maybe try and preserve it a bit and perhaps repair if it seems to get worse.
Mine look pretty much the same. I don't care anymore.
