New battery options..

So my alternator went out in my G, it has almost 130k so its normal. If the alternator shop tells me I should get a new battery soon, I am wondering weather I should buy the Optima Yellow top, or the Duralast Platinum battery. There is about a $40 difference for the Optima, but I will be running a 1200 watt amp off it and upgrading the entire sound system.

Had a lot of good luck with the Optima Yellow top. Had one for about 11 years and one for 5 years, and both are going strong.

4 year warranty on the Diehard Platinum SEARS. I was able to stack coupons and had some points expiring. I got free install on the battery so that it made extremely easy to pick sears over optima. Also being able to have my battery swapped out locally when it craps out at any sears is a very nice benefit. You are buying a rebadged odyssey and just look at this bad a$$ video in comparison to spiral agm. Make sure you stack some coupons and discover cashback which is 10%. I was able to get the battery extremely cheap.

I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't have better sence than to go to Sears!

Sears? In the past they're battery's were a fair deal and lasted about as long as their warranty's. Watching Sears mechanics (using that word lightly) work is like watching a monkey f*ck a football! Go with the yellow top, you won't be sorry!

I have had bad luck with Duralast. Go with Optima. My G has a red top one but the yellow one is a deep cycle.

I've used Duralast gold for years in multiple cars. Pretty happy with the performance and warranty.

NOTE: This only works if the batteries are head to toe (positive to negative).

I have Diehard Gold's in my cars. They've done pretty well. I think the battery in my G is nearly 5 years old and the one in my Mustang is 6 years old. No problems.

Same battery in mine. Never questions itself at startup.

I have always had good luck with Optima, however, I bought a "Red Top" for my G and it only lasted a year and a half. I now have a good ol' Wally World battery (cheap) and it's been three years and going strong. Take this for what it's worth. I do have a "Yellow Top" (not in auto service) that is still going strong after 14 years.

Lighter than almost anything. Braille, carbon fiber. Will also lighten your wallet a goos chunk.
