Angry GOT HIT :( insurance code?

So my Diamond Graphite baby got it a week ago while i was waiting at a red light to turn, the idiot side sweeped me partially and my entire front bumper came off Fender is also has a small mark. Bumper is completely garbage. Asked at a few local shops how much is it to fix, need new front bumper, new fender, and new headlights. About $1,300 being that i provide new headlights that is.

PROBLEM : I went to pick up the police report for his "FULL COVERAGE" to cover him. I found out his policy expired 5 day after the accident. Also the stupid cop did not put our insurance codes on the police report. All i have is his plate number, VIN, and policy number. but both of the drivers (me and him) have the insurance code field left blank! How could i find out which insurance does he have? i'm not gonna go call every insurance in the united states and give them his policy number.

Help!

You don't have to do a damn thing! You have insurance, isn't this what you pay them for? We see so many members running around trying to do the job they pay their insurance companys for...why? They have the ability to go on line and get answers it would take you a week standing in line to get. You paid the $$ let/make them do their job...Gary

I work in insurance.

The way insurance works. He is covered even if it expired as the accident happened while the insurance was still active. even if currently it is down. ur insurance company only needs his information and they can do a search by that in the databases that connect insurance companies and find his policy and they will put in their claim under his insurance. you just need to contact ur insurance company which will do all the work. tell u to go to a shop and split u a check. its not ur fault so u shouldnt even be out of pocket.
