Goodbye Infiniti!
The E92's V8 is a whole different beast from the 3 series straight 6.
But some E92s do have the rod bearing issue, it's very similar to our OC issue.
It happened to enough cars that it became a major topic on the BMW forums, but it appears to be the exception, not the norm.

i havent done much research on q50"s .but i like the look of the sedan ..
besides price whats the reason you guys think it might not be worth it ??
i have an 03 sedan with about 130k on it .. and its been great to me .. id like to stay with infiniti ..
i always wanted to mod it more than i have .but i kinda dont want to put much money into it anymore ..
because its getting so high in mileage .. so im thinking of what i would get next ..

Sadly I fully agree with you Vancouver6MT. '03 was Motor Trend Car of the Year. '07 was Car and Driver Top 10. Nothing of distinction since then. Q50 was a chance to redeem themselves but it was a disappointment as a driver's car.
My '03 is till strong with 250km on it. Regrettably I "upgraded" my wife's '07 for '12 G25. That lease ends this year and like you I will be looking elsewhere.

Closed the deal
Traded the G35 on a loaded M4. What a car!
Only got $5K for the G after so many years of babying it, but at 220,000 Km that was the best I could do. Did get $20K off the new M4 price though so overall I am happy.
I read that the higher-powered Q60 won't be shown until 2017. I am very pro-Infiniti (better than Lexus or Acura, better value than German), but can't wait that long.
I plan to sell it before the warranty expires, then I will look again at the Q60.
Happy motoring to all.

Now that it's official that the new Q60 will be only avail in auto I'll be looking elsewhere for a new ride to replace the G coupe..it was fun while it lasted Infiniti.
Luckily my G35 is still in excellent shape so that day doesn't need to come anytime soon.
Its sad to see threads like these. The G literally saved Infiniti from extinction, and history does like to repeat itself. The Q60 needs to give Infiniti that next boost. I do like the Q50, but seems to be lacking something, oh yeah a manual option. I have yet to test drive one though. I cant find much info on the new TT 3.0L. '90-95 VG30DETT anyone?
I still love my 2005 rwd sedan, even if a new Camry can smoke me. Its been reliable which is important to me. I'm coming up on 130K, I know this car has plenty of life left. Living in the salt belt sucks... salt will ultimately destroy my car. I've been eyeing replacements, but as much as I'd love to stay with Infiniti.... the Germans are calling my name too.
