i've owned both. it is really faster. low 5's for a g37, never seen anything below 6 for g35. same for the quarter mile. mid to high 14's for a g35 and mid to high 13's for a g37. i could never break second gear loose on a g35, heck, i could barely get it to chirp.

Car & Driver is my source for both. Kinda hard to not trust them. The 35 I'm talking about is a 6-speed coupe, so if you had a sedan and/or auto, that could be the difference you're feeling.

(Yes, I understand this is "magazine racing" but those are their actual potential numbers. Driver error may vary)

Forced induction. Like supercharged, turbo, etc.

i think the reason why the speed timing isnt so much different because the TQ numbers are probably the same.

Tough choice. I looked at and drove both before i ended up buying my G35. I feel like "scragglerock" said that the exterior styling is downright sexy and I feel the looks will never age. I never had someone randomly come up to me at a gas station and ask me compliment me on my car and ask me questions. I also never had a girl flirt with me at a tollway booth (but i think that was my looks lol jk). When I look at the G37 coupe however, I sometimes get it confused with a Altima Coupe. I feel they when a little commercial with styling. The 330hp engine more smooth, powerful, and more fuel efficient, but i drove the 7at model and i couldnt get used to the clunky shift patterns. It felt like my moms old Chrysler pacifica.

The interior of the G37 is more luxurious and had a ton of more features, but idk to me the build quality was not well. The car only has 55k and the steering wheel buttons were peeled and the seat bolster was split at the seam.

At the end of the day they are both nice cars. Comes down to what you really want. IMO though your G is nice and I think you should consider keeping it.

I may consider a g37x coupe when I get on my financial feet a little better though.

the g35 they mention in the second article is an 07 sedan with the revised vq. anyway, i like both cars, but there is a big difference in performance. both the cars i owned were silver six speed coupes.

edit: op, love your car minus the over stretched tires and excessive camber. jmo. looks great.

not sure if you drive an Auto but I almost definitely break loose on second gear when I power shift, who knows it may be my camber but at -3.8 with 11's in the rear I doubt it lol. I've never done a quarter mile but I've gotten a 9 flat for an 1/8 with g37's mere milliseconds faster or slower

I'd really like to know. I'm curious as to what would be a good step from the G35/G37 without going muscle, and AWD. Im thinking Audi or BMW.

[QUOTE=ScraggleRock;6963426]First, let's just all agree here that the G35 (yours more than others - good job!) Is way sexier than the G37.

I agree 100% I wish they had kept the G35 styling a few more years before replacing it with the G37. Don't get me wrong it's still a sweet ride and I would be seriously tempted if I had the money but for the most part I don't even notice g37 coupes when I see one, the G35 coupe on the other hand even after owning one for a few years now, I still can't help but check them out when I see one
