OMG, Becky's not even hot! or tales of my car in the parking lot.
So, my wife had my G35 today, so I could get some estimates on some (relatively) minor damage on her rear quarter panel from a guy at our apartment complex. Got the estimates done, about $600-700.
Some student at her school was on the phone trying to park at the same time. So that's one munched Ray's Forged 19" rim, quarter panel messed up and a hole in my bumper.
Got the police report and all that, so somebody else is footing the bill, but FML.
3 out of 4 accents that happened to my G were all when my wife drove it. 4th was a guy backing into me at a traffic light. He missed an exit for a strip club on valentines day (that was his excuse)
That's terrible hope the student learned a lesson to put down the phone.
It will certainly be an expensive lesson. As a parent I would certainly take the phone away until the value of the phone and monthly bills had reached to cost of damage to the cars. Give them an old nokia dumbphone to use in the meantime.

Yours is a piece of cake though, it'll buff out.
No fault of my wife, just happened to be the one who parked it where the teen hit it.
They're well aware. Apparently, they're not going to fix the dent in her car, just the headlight to make it legal. She ended up going over this curb from where the cars are parked on the left into the next parking lot on the right after "her foot slipped" the people who saw it heard her car scrape across the curb as she went over it. Ahh, that sucks. Luckily the dent is on the bumper not the quarter panel. Teens and phones, man. They're already at a disadvantage with their inexperience. At least she didn't try to take off.

The quarter panel is also dented, it's just not as extreme as the bumper.
I just got back from removing the trim panels from inside the trunk. Not good. The floor pan has been crumpled up in that corner:
Sorry man, that sucks. $600-700 seems like a low estimate to me. I'm no body repair man but would expect it to be double that amount with the damage on your quarter panel, bumper, wheel & trunk floor.
Good luck, I'm sure she will be as good as new in no time.

^that was an estimate for his other damaged car. When he was out getting that estimate G got ran into.
If the insurance company decides to pay for a new rim, that might be $2K just for the rim.
I remember waaaaaay back when these cars were newish, that a guy got his 19's stolen and filed a claim and got a $6-7K check from the insurance company.
However, not being an OEM rim, not sure how they would handle this, nor would i want to add a $2K rim into the estimate and possibly bring the damage estimate into the range of the INS company wanting to total the car.

It is an OEM rim from the coupe, not the sedan. The damage isn't bad, I think a repaint would cover it.
