They were almost entirely comprised of badge-engineered Chevy's for most of their life. It's a shame that they got cut once they actually were bringing in vehicles that were different from GM's standard lineup like the GTO, G8 and Solstice.

I was sad to see Pontiac go, but not surprised. They were like the same cookies with different color sprinkles on them. Not the lines of the past. Back in the 40s, 50's and 60s, they were looked on as top of the line in American performance cars, as was Buick. My Dad had two Buick Roadmaster convertibles back in 49'. My Mom looks so cool riding on the back in the home coming parades at the college.

Coupe, Premium package, sport suspension
Lookie what I bought yesterday

Dad was a Pontiac guy. Loyal to the dealer and it went both ways. My first memory was the 1958 Super Chief with true twin exhaust through the bumper. Fastest I ever went was in the 1971 LeMans coupe. Nothing special really, 350 2-bbl 3-speed automatic. Except something about it was special. A factory miracle. It would take 2nd gear to 90. On a new interstate that wasn't yet open, it was still accelerating at 132 and the white dashed lines were going by so fast I decided I didn't want to go any faster. That was a long long time ago.

Same here. But my dad did tell me about the time he had a Pontiac Firebird/Trans AM. For an old car, I absolutely love the design. Might even pick one up for the hell of it. Still a few kicking around on craigslist

They are making new ones now, MUCH better than the old ones.

Reports from the manufacture indicate this model will be available with a six-speed manual/automatic transmission. The 2015 Pontiac Trans Am is a convertible/coupe pony vehicle available in Firebird, V6, and Trans Am trim versions. The basic 2015 Trans Am has a 3.7-liter V6 engine, which generates 305 hp/280 lb-ft of torque whereas the Firebird is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 420 hp/390 lb-ft of torque. With addition of supercharger the engine on the monstrous 2015 Trans Am trim significantly boosts power to 631 lb-ft of torque and 662 horse power. Transmission options comprise of a 6-speed automatic, Tremec 6-speed manual and 6-speed manual. Fuel mileage, according to EPA is in range of 15 miles per gallon in the city to 31 miles per gallon on the highway, depending on choice of trim and engine. Features include modifiable performance features, glass roof, electronic power aided steering, navigation system, rearview camera, hands-free capabilities and heated seats. Safety features of brake assist (BA), anti-lock braking, advanced airbags and stability control (ESC). The 2015 Trans Am is supported by a 36,000-mile/3 year warranty so you can be sure that all problems will be solved.

The biggest change for the 2015 Pontiac Trans Am (compared to the 2014) model is its front fascia. Tiny twists have been made to the rear and front bumpers, and they have been aesthetically improved by incorporating a more befitting rounded shape. The vehicles LED headlights have been changed (due to new trends by Pontiac) by increasing the width to be placed next to the grille. Well concealed and camouflage, the vehicle’s side sills have also been restyled. The quarter panel badge at the front has also been modified. With all these modifications, the 2015 Pontiac Trans Am almost looks the same as the 2015 Firebird. Do not expect anything revolutionary in this segment since Pontiac surely wants this model to stay true to its origins and will draw inspiration from previous version.

Air curtains placed on the front bumper combined with air breathers on the front arches enhance stability by pushing air out of the wheel wells, whereas the front apron huge intakes move air through and around the vehicle to produce down force. A lip spoiler at the rear adds an equivalent amount of down force at the vehicle’s back and this is something that you really need if you want those wheels to be firmly connected to the asphalt. Inside, the leather bucket-style Sport seats look quite comfortable and, while the rear seats spot a 60/40 split. Characteristic style touches in the 2015 Pontiac Trans Am are leather-covered steering wheel, round instruments with white graphics as well as door sills.

The 2015 Trans Am is expected to make its world debut in July and hit the showrooms sometime during the summer of 2015th. This has not yet been confirmed and we are pretty sure that additional information’s will be offered even before the launch date so keep an eye on this page as we are going to bring additional info about this car.

Price of 2015 Pontiac Trans Am will move from $22,995 to $36,095 and depending on the trim level, optional features and engine options will go even higher. This is one of the segments in which Pontiac does not have a lot of room to experiment because they need to keep the price competitive on the market where we have more than a few fantastic vehicles.

If you interested for 2016 Pontiac Trans AM we have prepared another page: http://mycarreviews2016.com/2016-pontiac-trans-am/

I'm not really feeling the new ones. It doesn't scream American Dream like the older ones did.

It's mostly the front end, that's my biggest gripe. I can live with the rear which will probably look sweet at night. Side profile seems identical to the Camaro. Front is blah.

But at that price point. Can't go wrong at all. Especially considering how easy it is to pump out extra ponies from the V8s.

Edit: After doing a quick search, looks like the 2016 trans am will be a hoax. With that being said, the new Q60 better deliver cause I have my eyes on that turbo 3.0

Anyone kno when the American manufacturers are gonna stop living off the retro designs and actually try to design something new. Sad their inability to design something nice. I think they jus tried with the stang and looks like **** again lol
