I suggest you take the tint off, get it written off and pay the small fine...if any! Then if you want tint, go light and keep the shade to your sunroof open to allow more sun inside. Chances are, you won't get pulled over again by doing this...Gary

Pay the ticket (and go to court if the ticket requires you).

I would swap out your dark tint for the legal tint. It should cost between $150-250 at most local tinting shops.

I got a ticket for tint, and just paid it since I liked the tint, cooler car in the summer.

But, I drove around with the sunshade open to let more light in and got paranoid every time a LEO was close by.

A year later, I swapped it out for lighter, legal tint. I like it much better, as I can drive around now without worrying about getting another ticket, and it's much easier to see out of at night. Still like the darker tint, but moving to a state that inspects tint annually (NC), so just not worth the hassle and paranoia.

Yeah, NC is pretty strict. 35% is as dark as you can go. I'm at 38% and like it fine.

Depends on the state.

Here in MA it is a moving violation due to it being considered an unsafe vehicle to operate. Insurance goes up as result.

Glass is usually 70% by itself. Pretty much any tint on that makes it illegal.

Why does CA suck so much even though I love traveling there?

You're only breaking the law if you get caught right?

in MA, limit is 35%. Mine reads 27% on the meter. I've managed to get away with it for about 7 years now. (knock on wood)

The number one rule is if you cheat, don't get caught. plus I always drive with windows down or sunroof open anyways

Yeah cops ride around in tinted vehicles but pull people over for doing the same thing. Tell the cop when they remove their tint you will remove your tint. Dont know what state you are in but if you can get some LE license plates that would help. They are about $50 which is cost of one ticket so they are worth it.

I got pulled over once in 20 years in the state I live in for window tint. The cop who pulled me over had his car tinted! So I told him after he checked me out and suggested I remove it, I told him I will when he removes his. He grinned and said have a nice day! No ticket. If you live in NJ get the LE license plates!

Just drive with your Limo tinted windows down ! That's what i do and even if I get pulled over for breaking necks I never get a tint ticket. And who drives with their windows up?! I need to hear my exhaust purrrr everywhere I go lol
