G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
I have to admit that I've moved from critical to curious. I love the fade on the blue trunk....

Awesome job on the trunk. Never seen that before

I think if the car was all one color it would kill it.

Well, did a compression & leak down test.

It's unfortunate but the machine shop that did the bore/balance gave too much clearance for the pistons/rings. Looks like it's time to LS swap.

So they over bored it too far? What is the problem you are having? Piston slap? Are you using stock pistons or what in the build?

Sounds like you are trolling LS1 haters just dropping that here and leaving it... hmmm

Sorry for the trouble though if so

11:1 compression

150 compression all around, blowby out the ***

eating oil like a MF, at first I thought it was just the PCV so I installed the open breather system. It helped a little bit but I was still eating oil at a crazy rate. I did a compression and leak down to see what was going on. When I opened it up to get the spark plugs out, all the pistons had oil on em. Leakdown confirmed my fear.

That's rough man! But the ls platform is amazing, have you any ideas on which model? Someone in my town was thinking of trying to fit an ls7 in a z which sounded badass

L92 is what I'm thinkin but I'm also looking at RB25 neo motors as well... Just to have that "unique" aspect to the car

Seems swap kits have come out for the z/g platform. I can just ride this VQ out until I get everything sorted

So the machine shop didn't do their job correctly?
Now, can't you just get bigger rings?
Also - is there some sort of partial refund from incorrect work being done?
