Problem with G35 cutting off at low RPM's

What would be the problem with the 2005 G35 coupe cutting of at low Rpm's? And the cruise control going down hill with the gas going in and out? trying to figure out the problem so I know what to tell the shop when I take it to get fixed.

Worse

Actually, it's a lot worse. Dropping way below 1000 RPM's and basically cutting off and then you have to mash the accelerator and the car will cut back on and continue on as normal.

My guess is one or more of your camshaft position sensors is starting to crap out. Do you have an SES light? Even if you don't get your car scanned for fault codes and don't be surprised if you get a P0340 or P0345 which are CPS codes. If you need to replace one or more stick with OEM sensors, our cars don't lay nice with aftermarket sensors a lot of the time.

Thanks!

I bought the can sensors but have not had an opportunity to replace them yet. I'm hoping that will fix it. Thanks for your input and advice. It's really appreciated. I have other vehicles so it's not a hurry up issue and as long as you keep the pedal down, it's ok. Lol!

A lot of times when the cam sensors start to go bad they won't trigger codes for a while. I don't recommend throwing parts at a problem so keep searching for other reasons that might cause the issue and watch the dash......

Don't tell them what you think. Just tell them the problem and let them tell you what is the root cause.is.

A qualified Infiniti dealer tech most likely knows immediately just from their experience.

Other so called mechanics, who knows?
An almost 13 year old vehicle is quite susceptible to parts/sensors beginning to fail

Good luck

07/G35 RPM DROP TO 800rpm WHEN HIT 1100RPM. BEFORE CAN GO HIGHER.

Hi, my sister's G35 just act up lately. When rev up the engine at ( parking, red light or stop and go) the engine rpm reach to 1100rpm than drop to around 800rpm, before it can go higher rpm. After pass 1100rpm car run normal. Only when car hot and only like this when car rpm below 1100rpm. Please, give some advice before take to dealership. THANKS

Dirty throttle body may cause stalling at low RPMs. There is a slight opening of the butterfly valve to allow some air to pass through when the accelerator is not pressed. Carbon built up restricts the airflow, causing engine RPMs to be lower than normal or just stalls the engine. Try cleaning the throttle body at the butterfly valve first before spending money on parts you don't need.
