For those using the Mobil 1-108 filter - it has be superseded by the M1-108a. It has stronger internals and more filtration capability over the 108 - warranty goes from 15,000 to 20,000 miles.
I am getting 2 of these at Advance Auto and taking back the 2 Purolator Ones I just bought due to research I did last night (hours on Oil and filters). I paid $23 with a 25% discount (you can order online and pick up in store and get at least 20% off - 25% was a special email as I'm in the "perks" club. Right after that I saw this at Walmart - same filter for $9.99!

And Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is the best 5/30 oil as far as keeping the engine clean - It beat out Mobil 1, Castrol, etc. by at least 25% - Castrol rated the worst!

Excuse my ignorance, but if you change your oil every 5000 miles, does this mean you can leave the filter on until you get to 20,000 miles?

Whether you can or can't I will still change the filter at the same time I change the oil - especially that the filter is SO SMALL!
I don't even let my oil get to 5000 mile - if it starts looking dirty I change it and that is usually between 3-4,000 miles.

Oil being dirty means it is doing its job. Read bob is the oil guy forums to learn how it really works.

Just saw a r/JustRolledIntoTheShop post about a lady locking up her engine because she didn't change oil for 50k miles. Lol. "Just put gas in it for 100k miles."

Did they update all their filters? I normally run the M1-110 anyway instead of the 108.

I'll stick with K&N because I prefer flow volume over super fine filtration and never exceed my 3k mile oil change interval.

3k would be like every 6 weeks for me, plus it's wasteful and unnecessary on newer cars. I change mine every 8 to 10k.

My oil comes from liquified dinosaurs, I change it every 3k just the way nature intended.

Do you run the M1-110 over the M1-108 for any reason other than it's a little larger? I've seen some people say they're concerned about oil pressure dropping, but in my opinion if the oil pressure drops from that small of change you have bigger problems to deal with.

Few reasons: at this point it's habit. I've noticed oil consumption is slower with the larger filter and 10W-30 oil (vs 5W). The main reason though is so that oil is being filtered at a higher rpm since the larger surface area allows the bypass valve stay closed longer. That's important to me since my commute is all highway at high speeds.

I have been using the M-110 for years on both my G35 sedan and my Q50S. More filter media = better filter.

The most I ever ran an oil change was 15,000 miles. Now it's 5000.

Yep! It's a great filter. I do filters every other and fluid at 4K now. I should switch to 5k but then I'd have to get oil analyses to know it's fine lol
