Just did a compression test is it really time for a new motor?
Just did a compression test is it really time for a new motor?
So my mechanic just performed a comp test on my 04 DE with 150k miles and found that all 6 cylinders were 150psi.He mention Normal number would be 170psi and over and he said my car isn’t worth touching until I buy a new motor.I thought 150psi was alright for a motor with such high miles
Numbers taken from the factory service manual, standard compression 184 psi, minimum psi 142, maximum difference between high and low cylinder 15 psi.
Your engine is fine, find a new (honest) mechanic that knows what he's doing
He's just trying to get paid for a motor swap.
