Hello, I have a 2008 g35 sedan AT. I’m aware that the VQ35HR motor has the issue of the gallery gasket blowing and so far at 120k miles nothing has happened. I just want to find a shop that is willing to do this just in case it does happen. The shops around me does not seem to want to do it. It is too much of a job to do myself. So if any vq owners from the nyc area can help me find shop I’ll be grateful.

 

It's basically just a timing chain replacement, once the timing chain is off it's just a handful of screws on a cover behind the chain.

Get quotes but be sure to tell them it's nothing more involved than a timing chain replacement.

However it's about an 8 hour job so expect a bill well over $1k
