needed to disconnect fuel regulater and the rail line to access valve covers when i took it off i seen this peice fall from my hand i cant find this part in a diagram anywhere can any one tell me what this little peice is and where it goes?

 

I'm pretty sure that goes into the black plastic engine cover. Here's a picture of one. It probably fell out when the cover was removed.
