I drove to work and when I got there my car was smoking it wasn’t the engine I looked and saw some liquid dripping on to my catalytic converter what could that liquid be please help and is it safe to drive back home?!?!?

 

U sure u didnt drive over some water on your way to work?

Do Not touch the catalytic converter while its hot.
Let the car cool off for a few hours. Then touch the liquid with your hands and see what color it is. What does it smell like?

 

Does it smell like oil? Rear valve cover gaskets leak above that. Or coolant rear passages.

 

More than likely the plastic heater hose connector disintegrated and the coolant leaked out. Had that happen to our 07 G35x.

 

If you can see it dripping my vote is coolant. Unless you have the mother of all valve cover gasket leaks. I have bad valve cover gasket leaks that cause an occasional whiff of burning oil if I'm stopped for a while in traffic with the engine running. But I never really see it dripping.

 

Mr.gee u were right it was the heater hose had to get that replaced now everything runs perfect thanks alot
