Not a biggie...but a $40K car should have a light under the hood and something different than a prop rod holding it up.

The slow-moving electronic seat is hella annoying.

No dome light in the back in a little foolish.

The glove box is tiny.

As mentioned, the "auto" headlamp setting is in a stupid place.

Getting to the headlight bulbs in a PITA. (and yes....I took the wheels off....I guess I don't have the small hands that require you to fiddle in a 2 inch hole).

The "random" feature (where it only plays randomly after the track ends on its own...don't you dare push the next track button...even if the song has a 10 minute solo ending you dont want to hear) of the 2005 HU is really annoying when you have mp3 disks in there.

With all cars...there will be some small annoying features. Overall, I love my car and look forward to driver her every morning and afternoon!

Weight. If this car were as light as it looked we'd run low 13's

Soft paint is ghey for sure. Did they contract Maico to paint these or what?

Seatbelt and my neck...I tuck it under my collar on work days just to keep it from cutting my head off.

The auto seat. I can move it faster.

The AMOUNT OF CUPHOLDERS! I have to be the only person questioning why we have 6 cupholders.

How hard it is to clean the back window down by the rear deck. You need a tiny set of hands to get around back there and I do not have them.

Ditto on the hood prop. No premium package here, so the auto location on the headlight stalk, the lack of headroom and the slow sunroof and related rattles don't apply (although I'm sure other rattles will arise).

As for the seatbelt, I looked while driving during lunch and it's close but still doesn't contact my neck. While this has something to do with my height (6'1"), I think the rake of the seatback might also play a factor. If I reclined the seat further for a cool look, it would contact my neck... ...and the seat/my posture would give me back problems for sure.

I remember reading that in the sales brochure and thinking what a clever bit of BS it was. Unless Nissan wanted the coupe even heavier, they just aren't going to be able to achieve the 50/50 balance without removing or relocating some of what's currently up front. Designing it that way for better handling while accelerating? Come on. One of he beauties of a neutral-handling car is that it's so easy to balance it with the accelerator. A 54/46 split isn't bad for a front-engine, RWD coupe and is likely safer for the average driver. Nothing to be ashamed about... ...but it does sound like somebody at Nissan decided to try to spin an average, respectable figure into an intentional stroke of brilliance.

Not dissin you or anything, you just reminded me about reading that and what a load of sales BS it is. Whoever decided to spin that little phrase in the brochure deserves some praise.

I don't like the little rattles my car has in colder weather.

Also how the suspension is so sensitive to ride height changes.

I can nitpick all that I want. But the only major things that I can pick out are:

BOSE system is an absolute joke. I have a sticker price of almost $37,500 and the system sounds worse than any base system I've ever heard in my life.

On the 04s, the back seat automatically moves back which is nice, but it reclined to an upright position all the way up as a 90 degree angle, and you have to set it back each time, which is just stupid why they did this.

Other than that, I can say things like I wish the car were lighter, and stuff like that but all in all this is one of my favorite cars ever.

Man, for someone that hasn't bought a G yet, like me. Reading these posts make me fell a little depressed. Although I'm pretty set on buying this car (dying to the past 3 years), I have to read these things to watch out for when I become an owner. I'm trying to rummage through the complaints and hope to find a problem that may be fixed in a later model, like say the '06.

So far, most of the complaints sound pretty minor and all together do not come close stacking up to the obvious positives....I know this is a "hate" post but guys/gals please re-affirm this. I guess this can be another post in itself which I'm sure has been discussed already; Is there anyone out there that regret buying the G becasue of any of the problems mentioned?

whenever the short list of complaints include things like
'seatbelts are slow to return'
or
'headlight order should be auto-off-...'

you know you're talking about an outstanding car
