Get 15000 mile service... car has scratches on it now...

i really need to examine my car for more scratches, but the ones i found are already enough for me to be pissed. I got my car serviced and they washed it. Its a black car so ANYTHING shows. On the front right fender there are zig zagging scratches over the wheel about 2 feet in length going back and forth about 5 times... needless to say I AM PISSED sicne my car looks like its still new.... or maybe LOOKED. It looks like the guy who was washing my car was wearing a ring or something and scratched it up. The scratches can probably be buffed out because they arent down to where it looks white, but are still easy to spot from less than 10 feet from the car. i guess this thread really has no point other than to vent about how dumb this is. I hope the dealership takes responsibility because i didnt notice them until i got home. IT just makes me so pissed that this happened after i have always walked a mile rather than parking next to people, garage my car and take such good care of it and how it looks....

i just went and looked again cause im in such disbelief still... its a scratch that goes from the center of the wheel well to the door.... back to center of the wheel well, and back to the door. Its kind of in a circular shape which makes me think it must have been whoever was drying my car off... I'm going to take my car back tomorrow and see what they say... hopefully they'll take care of me (they usually give me and my family preferential treatment since we own 4 infinitis totalling about $200k in the last 2 years)... i'll post an update tomorrow i guess

I just got my car back from the dealership yesterday for some warranty work and I insist that they NOT wash my car everytime. I've seen how they "wash" cars and the materials they use - it's not a pretty sight.

i walked back there today cause they washed it after they fixed the scratches (it looks new), and im going to do the same from now on. The service guy i have was more than helpful and it ended up being alright.... except for the fact that i had to ditch plans with my girlfriend to take the car in today

Ouch, I hope she understands.
I think what they did is put the scratch remover on there or maybe buffed it out for you. You'll know the next time you wash your car. Glad it worked out for you!

From: Lakewood, WA.. its temporary
A few years ago I bought a brand new F150. It had 41 miles on it the next day when I dropped it off to get the windows tinted. When I came back to pick it up there was a GIANT dent in the drivers side door which I noticed imediately. I asked the guy how it happend and he played dumb pretending like he didn't know what I was talking about. I took him outside and showed him and he had the ***** to tell me that it was there when I dropped it off!!! I looked in the bay where they do the work and there was a roll away tool box that was just the right height for one of the drawers to make the dent. I tried to push the issue through the BBB and even considered suing but the damage wasn't worth the hassle. It cost about $250 to fix but man was I hot!

Anyone that's been on DRIVER for any length of time knows it's not a good idea to allow the stealership to wash your car. We have seen some really bad results from allowing Infiniti to wash our G35s from scratches like yours to destroyed custom wheels. If you need to visit your dealership have them right on the ticket in big bold letters....DO NOT WASH!

I drove home after getting some warranty work done to find a fresh chunk taken out of the corner of my rays... needless to say i was pissed and knew they wouldnt do anything about it..
