b/c its a unibody frame take it to a frame shop and have measure your frame. I hit a curb on that exact same corner and did $6500 worth of damage. IMO you're gonna need a new fender and headlight obviously. The bumper cover could be fixed, but i cant tell based on the picutres.
My advice is to take it to a body shop and have them look at it. Get a quote from 3-4 body shops and price shop the companies. Could be in upwards of $3000. B/c its a pearl paint everything has to be blended. From the door to the hood and the bumper. Btw your paint will never look the same again.

We don't know all the facts, but if this guy is paying out of his own pocket, that implies (to me) that he doesn't want to go on record with the accident. If it was the other guy's fault, I can't imagine why he would want to suck up the cost himself unless he was (possibly) at fault. On the other hand, if he was at fault, the guy in the Merc would likely be putting a hit on his insurance anyway..
Interesting.
Echo the guys responding who say to take the car in and have a professional look at it. Looking at the damage leads me to believe there could be more than cosmetic work required. You never know.

If this guy made a U-Turn, was it legal? If not, were you able to get a witness who saw the guy make the U-Turn.
I don't think you would be charged if it was an illegal manuever............
I bet thats close to $4,500 in damage to your car....if he's at fault let him pay.....and then go for an aftermarket bumper..
P.S. I'd have them write in a new front rim as well....it looks like it has some rash on the lip

for parts such as these, you might want to check out www.car-part.com. I picked up a headlight from them at half price.
there's a thread in here where a member is selling his coupe lights.
you can probably get a white hood from someone pretty easily too.
you caould probly gets the parts used pretty cheap... just takes a bit of looking & patients

This story sounds like there was more to the story...maybe living in FLA where there is no personal liability law or something?
Ha...I had this exact same accident a few months after I first got my G. You would not be at fault if the person made a U-turn in front of you. The other driver's insurance paid for my headlight and bumper cover. That's at least $3K worth of damage.

I can tell you that is not always the case. I had someone cut me off on a fwy exit ramp--they then slammed on the brakes to attempt to turn into a sidestreet that is not really accessible from the exit. I hit the car and they fled the scene--I caught up to them and got the plate. My quoting the above, plus the fact that he fled--he was ticketed and his ins. company paid to fix my maxima.
Your insurance paid for your repairs because it was a hit and run basically. But it was still your fault.
Texas law states rear end collision is always the person that is behind you that caused the rear ends fault. Not the other way around.
