Coilovers on 06 MT...wat do u think?

i have a 2006 G coupe 6MT but i want to lower the car...i dont want to cut the suspension life down so i am looking into getting the eibach adjustable coilovers or H&R...any suggestions or experiances with either of the systems?

if you're thinking about a full swap, why do you care about the
longetivity of your stock struts? is this a leased car?

know its baought but if i put lowering springs on it eventually it will mess up the suspension so i think im gonna just go ahead and get the tein basic coilovers

Doing springs alone would also have your stock struts operating outside of their intended range which will not give the best ride.

You're making the right choice in doing coil overs.

Remember, it's not all about looks - the performance has to stay the same or, ideally, improve.

??? Explain this.

Also, if this is true, why WOULDN'T coil-overs mess up your suspension?

i THINK he means the stock shocks/struts would get messed up b/c they are made to work correctly and last longer at a certain ride height/dampening/spring rate etc. but i could be wrong

To get all technical, lowering changes your motion ratio and it's linearity. The vibrations now come into the car through slightly different paths, and similar for the forces.

IF you were to keep your stock struts healthy without swapping out for coilovers, why not try putting on Tanabe DF210 Springs. They lower your car 1.5" (claimed) and, unlike most springs out there, these ones have similar spring rates as OEM ones.
