Installing grounding wire to battery?

For anybody whose installed grounding wires, is there some way to feed the grounding wire that goes to the battery under or sideways or something into the battery box w/o having to punch a hole in the battery cover?

The hole doesn't go in the battery cover. It goes in a rubber grommet leading to the battery compartment. Sorry my G is stored somewhere else now or I could give you better directions. You might find a DIY somewhere here if you try a search or someone here will likely respond soon to help you. You won't notice the hole in the rubber. If done carefully and properly it looks like a factory access for the grounding wires.

Good luck.

Glad to help Atlantic. It's not actually a grommet, more a place to make a cut. When making the x cut use a heavy duty utility knife. Be firm but very slow, deliberate and careful cutting as once it breaks through the knife will very easily cut a huge hole you don't want.

okay, slight problem - i actually went and looked at the car today (2003.5 model) and there's no rubber gromet to cut - the battery box is basically one solid plastic box, with 3 or 4hoses going into the side of it - i have no gromet to cut like in the picture....WTF?
