Weird engine sound - goes away when clutch pressed

if i drive around for a bit and then stop the car, ther's a sound that can be heard from inside the car and from the outside. It definitely sounds like somthing is hitting something else. When I press the clutch, the sound goes away.

Anyone familiar with this? btw i have a 05 coupe.

i don't know about you, but i have this problem when the car makes this noise when i drive it the very first time. For example, if i start the car, and then drive it, i'd hear this quick noise and it goes away. But the noise only occure when i start my engine to drive. If i don't shut down my engine, the noise won't re-occur. It only occurs once when i start the engine and then press the gas pedal, the noise comes up.

Probably tranny noises, thow-out bearing, gears, syncros etc. If it's functioning properly, don't worry. You're going to hear noises in them.
If the tranny isn't shifting properly, have the dealer evaluate it.

What you can hear is the VDC self test done shortly after start-up.
No worries.
